Golden State Warriors will be staring at another opportunity to post a victory in the NBA fixture when they go head to head with the Atlanta Hawks at the Chase Center on Thursday morning.

Golden State are 10-3 and had fallen to second in the Western Conference Tuesday while the Hawks are 7-8 and are fifth in the east.

The Golden State Warriors have off to a good start in the 2024-25 NBA fixtures but came unstuck for the third time this week in midweek fixture on Tuesday morning when they were overpowered, 112-109 by the Clippers who have triumphed over them for the second time in the current season.

Curry, the reigning champion of the NBA scoring title, scored nine points in the opening quarter, making a field goal in his first attempt, and a three-pointer in his second try while hauling 26 points throughout the game, with Wiggins scoring seventeen and Jonathan Kuminga ading twelve; no other Warriors’ player scored in double figures.

The primary reason was one fascinating statistical inequality – while the Warriors attempted one more free-throw than the Clippers and shot seven fewer, their free throw shooting this season is only 71.2% – the lowest in the league.

Steve Kerr’s side made only nine of 19 tries, with Kuminga, Brandin Podziemski and Trayce Jackson-Davis going two of nine combined from downtown, as the Clippers went 16 of 18 beyond the arc, which resonated the fine line between the two sides in three-point shooting.

The result means the Warriors are now fourth on the scoring average with 119.6 points per game compared to 108.1 in the first 10 matches while on the defensive part, the team is now on an average of 110.1 points conceded in every game, which puts them at joint-sixth in the league.

The Atlanta Hawks, however, continue to gather momentum and claimed their third win in the past four games following a 109-108 win over the Kings in Sacramento on Tuesday morning.

Zaccharie Risacher, the franchise's top draft pick, scored 18 points, Clint Capela added 14 points and 14 rebounds, and De'Andre Hunter led the squad with 24 points off the bench.

Even though Trae Young only had seven points during the win, he was instrumental in all of Atlanta's successful plays and contributed a season-high 19 assists, which helped the club score 46 points that evening.

Although they have lost their last three trips to the Chase Center, Atlanta defeated the Warriors 141-134 in overtime the last time they played them, with the game ending tied 123-123 at the final buzzer.

Quin Snyder's team is currently ranked ninth on offense after defeating the Kings, averaging 116.1 points per game. However, they still need to improve greatly on defense, as they are giving up 119.5 points per game, which is the third-highest amount of any team in the league.

For the first time since the Hawks' first game against the Nets, Bogdan Bogdanovic took the court and played 18 minutes, scoring six points, dishing out three assists, and pulling down three rebounds.

The only player guaranteed to be out for the Hawks on Thursday is Vit Krejci, while Kobe Bufkin and Hunter were also listed as questionable but played in the most recent game.
