With the UEFA Nations League group stage fixtures in the 2024-25 campaign coming to a close, Gibraltar and Moldova will square off to face each other in an international friendly on Tuesday evening.
They are currently occupying first position in group one of League D in the UEFA Nations League and are assured of at least a playoff spot in the promotion category besides, Moldova is occupying the top spot of group two in the same league D to qualify for the promotion category.
Gibraltar played one match and drew the following three games which were in the group 1 of league D of the 2024-25 Nations League to have a total of six points that placed them at the top of the section and ahead of San Marino, who had one point.
San Marino played against Liechtenstein on Monday; If San Marino were to beat that team, they would finish at the top of the league, while Gibraltar would have to enter a promotion play-off so as to be promoted to the league C.
It is beyond their control and Gibraltar will now turn their attention on a friendly match against Moldova, which will take them to six games unbeaten in all competitions.

Moldova will be looking to close a successful 2024 on a high note after winning three of their previous four friendlies, including a 1-0 victory over San Marino in September.
Tjay De Barr should start as the center-forward, hoping to add to his three goals at the international level, while Walker is once again anticipated to start in the number 10 spot for the home team.
