Serie A's Sunday night matchup between Fiorentina and AC Milan takes place at Stadio Artemio Franchi. The teams square off following disparate performances in Europe.

Although the Viola eventually managed to defeat unimpressive Conference League opponents, Milan was unable to sustain their improved domestic performance and lost their second straight Champions League match.

Fiorentina were the clear favorites to defeat Welsh outsiders after making it to the finals in each of the previous two years. On Thursday, the New Saints began their most recent Conference League season; yet, it took more than an hour to dissect TNS.

At the 65-minute mark, Yacine Adli finally opened the score. Shortly after, Moise Kean successfully secured the points by converting a rebound at close range.

Milan has won six of their past eight Serie A games against Sunday's hosts, including that 2-1 triumph that completed the double over Fiorentina last season.

Three Stuttgart players have confirmed injuries: defender Nikolas Nartey, winger Justin Diehl, and center-back Dan-Axel Zagadou. Diehl and Zagadou are unlikely to be fit for Sunday's match; they won't be back until January and November, respectively.

Though they should all be back in the next few days, Leonidas Stergiou, Josha Vagnoman, and Ameen Al Dakhil are questionable for the match.

The Rossoneri are unbeaten in their last four league games going into this weekend—they most recently ended Inter Milan's supremacy in the derby—but they haven't been able to sustain this form when playing elite opponents in Europe.

Paulo Fonseca's team faced two difficult tests in the Champions League: first, they lost to Liverpool at home, and then, on Tuesday night, they were defeated by Bayer Leverkusen, the German champions.

Despite making it to the 2023 semifinals, Milan has only won nine of their previous 33 league games. They still have a lot of catching up to do if they hope to finish in the top eight in the new league phase.

Although the Estadio Municipal de Famalicao saw a total of 27 shots, neither goalie was able to get the ball in the goal, therefore a draw seemed like a fair outcome.

Tiago Margarido's team, that advanced from the second division via the playoffs, has lost four and drawn two of its first seven games, scoring four goals and giving up twelve.

Nacional is now bottom but one in the league standings, tied for points with Boavista and Estrela Amadora after only five of the first fifteen points were earned. A victory on Sunday will tie them with eighth-place Moreirense.
