After defeating the Carolina Panthers 33-10 on the road on Sunday, the Dallas Cowboys are feeling quite good about themselves. The oddsmakers predict that they will perform similarly against the Washington Commanders on Thanksgiving Thursday.

Dallas (7-3) is starting as an 11-point favorite over Washington (4-7) with a 48-point over/under. Right now, the Cowboys' money line is -600.

Thanksgiving has been a Thanksgiving tradition since 1966. Dallas has an all-time record of 32-22-1, including a 28-20 victory over the New York Giants in the previous season.

In contrast, the Commanders have a 4-8 record; nevertheless, their most recent victory was against the Cowboys in 2020, when they defeated them 41-16.

Dallas has won two straight games by at least three possessions, while Washington has suffered back-to-back losses, the most recent of which was a 31-19 home setback to the three-win Giants on Sunday. These two NFC East rivals are trending in opposing directions.

It makes sense that the Cowboys are strong favorites as a result, but will they cover?

Dallas has just 1-11 against the spread in their last 12 Thanksgiving games, with the only victory coming against Washington in 2018.

In that span, the Cowboys have a win-loss record of 5-7; they will look to improve on that record in their season-opening encounter with the team.

Dallas defeated Washington at home by 15 points in early October of the previous year, but their season ended in a 20-point loss as quarterback Dak Prescott completed just 14 of 37 passes for 128 yards, one touchdown, and an interception.

Since the Thanksgiving setback in 2020, the Cowboys have only suffered one loss at the hands of the Commanders; in the last two seasons, America's Team has a 3-1 record versus Washington.

With five wins of at least 12 points, Prescott is 9-2 versus the Commanders in his career. He is especially noteworthy for his 11.5-point spread.

Can Dallas win two straight Thanksgiving games? If so, will the two-possession spread be covered?

Time will tell; the response is anticipated at 3:30 p.m. CST. Thursday inside AT&T stadium.
