The Pittsburgh Steelers aim for a third consecutive win, having secured victories in four of their last five games, with the sole loss being a 20-10 setback against the Jaguars in week eight. Their recent wins include a 20-16 triumph over the Titans and a 23-19 home victory against the Packers, where they were 3.5-point favorites. Positioned in the 1st wildcard spot in the AFC, the team faces a significant challenge in their upcoming matches against the Browns and Bengals. Notably, they've covered the spread in four of their last five games.
Kenny Pickett hasn't been putting up substantial numbers in an offense that heavily emphasizes the running game. Last week, Pickett tallied 126 passing yards, holding a season total of 1616 passing yards with a 6:4 TD to INT ratio.
The Steelers maintain a focus on utilizing Najee Harris and Jaylen Warren for ground plays. Harris showcased his best performance of the season recently, rushing for 82 yards and accumulating 465 rushing yards this year. Warren has been productive, amassing 189 rushing yards in his last two games and totaling 365 rushing yards at an average of 5.1 yards per rush. However, George Pickens has had limited impact, recording 45 receiving yards in his last two games despite leading the team with 566 receiving yards. The Pittsburgh offense, though effective in parts, at times lacks creativity and ranks 29th in total yards per game.
The Steelers' defensive line is turning in victories. They have five straight games where they have given up 20 points or less. Only twice this year has the unit allowed more than 20 points to be scored. Despite giving up 399 total yards last week, they managed to limit the Packers to just 19 points. While the rush defense is ranked 25th, the pass defense is ranked 26th. They are getting an amazing 3.3 sacks per game on average.
Pittsburgh is ranked 25th in the NBA with an average of 17.3 points per game. They rank 13th in the league by holding opponents to 20.2 points.
