With the boost that Brest has received from victory against UCL in midweek, Brest would be eager in the match to continue their performance at Stade Francis-Le Ble against Le Havre on Sunday.

At the end of six rounds, both teams occupy the relegation zone with six points, the Stade Brestois having lost 0-3 in their previous domestic match to Auxerre and the Normandy club having the same trouncing by Lille.

Thus, Brest had been seen in different performances, from their domestic match to the Champions League game this week – 3-0 loss to newly promoted Auxerre and 4-0 win over Red Bull Salzburg.

Not to mention Eric Roy who will sit out this weekend after some harsh words have been said about the referees during their 2-0 win against Toulouse.

Brest may be one of the early ‘surprise packages’ of European football season but back home Les Pirates are far from causing such an upset and are only settled at the 17th position, though only two points above the relegation zone.

It has been their shield in the domestic tournament to date, they have registered their last two league games in Stade Francis-Le Ble with a cumulative scoreline of 2-0.

Only four out of six league matches in the current season have been won while this team has lost as many games as they lost in 24 previous Ligue 1 matches cumulatively.

Brest have won all of their four home league games against Le Havre and played a 1-0 victory in their last encounter on March.

Le Havre have failed to find their proper place under new management with Digard and they are placed now 14 in the league team.

The former defensive midfielder who started his senior career at Le Havre has seen his side lose the last three Ligue 1 encounters, one less than the longest losing streak that this team had in 2023-24.

Les Ciel et Marine have struggled defensively thus far this season, giving up the second-most goals in the league so far (13).

Le Havre had lost their last two away Ligue 1 games by a combined score of 5-1; a loss on Sunday would be their longest losing streak since making a comeback to the top division the previous season.

In addition, if they triumph this weekend, they will have more away wins in Ligue 1 than they did during the previous campaign (one).

Since January 2008, while both teams were in Ligue, Le Club Doyen has not won a game played at Stade Francis-Le Ble and has failed to score in six straight trips there.
