The Chicago Bulls have been an enigma this year. They have the capability to be on their way toward the play-in spot once again, but it has been far from impressive to begin the year. For the Bulls, I want to see more of Zach LaVine and Nikola Vucevic as they are the team’s biggest guns this season. LaVine has been playing injured though he should remain a top player for the Bulls if healthy. This is a match up that the Bulls will have a hard time especially given how good the Celtics have played this year.

After the 21-5 beatings, the Celtics appeared to be one of the most dominating teams in NBA again this season. They have too much talent for one another and can bombard teams in equal measure. It begins with Jayson Tatum, Jaylen Brown, Derrick White, and Porzingis. They are once again heading back to the top seed in the Eastern Conference. The Celtics have very much depth and what they call a roster full of talent, and it looks like they will bring it against this team.

Offensively the Bulls have been very aggressive in the current season. For offence they rank sixth in points per game at 118.9, ninth in field goal percentage at 47.4% and ninth in three point percentage at 37.8%. Five distinct Bulls are scoring over double digits in this season with LaVine leading the pack at 21.7 points up to this season. Then comes Giddey out of action, Coby white is the leader in assists with an average of 4.6. Since the time, Zach LaVine and Nikola Vucevic have been the major contributors in this offense.

LaVine is this team’s offense in the backcourt, while Vucevic is the focal point in the low post for the team. It looks like Zach LaVine will be back for this game, and given that, the bulls must have him against this Boston defense. The Celtics have the defense to slow it down and the ability to stop the Bulls in the United Center.

In NBA play, the Boston Celtics (21-5) will host the Chicago Bulls (12-15) at the TD Garden. The Bulls are in tenth place in the Eastern Conference, and the Celtics are in second.

Given that they are leading the East, the Boston Celtics can be excused for not putting the NBA Cup first this season and instead concentrating on the NBA, where they have performed significantly better.

With a 5-2 record in their previous seven games, the Celtics have remained consistent in the NBA since their most recent NBA Cup group stage victory over the Chicago Bulls, which they won 138-129 away.

This season, the Celtics have excelled offensively. They are 13th in three-point percentage (37.2%), 19th in field goal percentage (48.7%), and third in scoring (119.9 points per game). Jayson Tatum leads the Celtics with 28.2 points per game, but five other players are averaging above double digits. With 5.6 assists per game, he leads in assists as well. Tatum drives this squad, but Jaylen Brown, who averages 25.8 points per game, contributes to the Celtics' large, dynamic pair.

This season, the Celtics' defense has been excellent. They are eighth in three-point defense (35%), ninth in field goal percentage defense (46.1%), and seventh in scoring defense (109.8 points per game). At nine rebounds per game, Jayson Tatum leads the club in the low end. Porzingis leads the club with 1.3 blocks per game, while four players average at least one block each game. Lastly, Tatum and Brown share the team lead with 1.2 steals per game, with four Celtics averaging at least one theft per game. The Bulls should be able to get several baskets in this game because they have been able to score this season. S
