Following their international break, Benfica will return to cup action on Saturday night at Estadio do Sport Lisboa e Benfica when they take on Famalicao in the Taca de Portugal's fourth round.

Last season, the visitors advanced to the semi-finals of this competition before losing to the eventual cup winners Porto, while the hosts made it as far as the last eight before being eliminated by Braga, the runners-up.

Benfica has been extremely strong at home after losing their opening game of the season. They defeated Sporting Lisbon 2-1 right before the international break to take back the top spot in the league rankings.

After Goncalo Inacio was sent off in the second half of the game, the Eagles increased their pressure and scored two goals in stoppage time to inflict their bitter rivals their first league loss of the year. The Eagles had trailed 1-0 going into the half.

With the outcome, they were able to increase their winning streak in the league to ten games, with nine of those games coming from wins. The one loss they suffered during that run of play was a 1-1 tie at home against Casa Pia last month.

In their sole meeting thus far in this competition, Roger Schmidt's team defeated Lusitania 4-1, with goals from Joao Mario, Rafa, Arthur Cabral, and Tiago Gouveia as they won handily.

Naturally, Benfica has been the stronger team in these meetings over the years and enters this one undefeated in their past ten meetings, outscoring their opponents 23-6 over that span.

Meanwhile, Famalicao just played their third-round encounter against Camacha last week and easily defeated the lower league team 5-0 because of bad weather that prevented travel to Madeira.

Francisco Moura, Gustavo Sa, Mihai-Alexandru Dobre, and 19-year-old Pablo all scored goals to assist his team advance to the fourth round after multiple changes were made to the lineup.

With 16 points from 11 games this season, FCF is in seventh place in the Primeira Liga. They have won their past three games in all competitions, including a 3-1 victory over Gil Vicente and a 0-0 stalemate with Vizela before the international break.

The visitors' performance in this matchup suggests that they won't be easy to beat, but they can't completely rule out the competition because their opponents will probably make changes to their lineup before their crucial Champions League match against Inter Milan in midweek.
