In search of the first away win in 2025 season, Al-Nassr are heading to Prince Mohamed bin Fahd Stadium in Qatif to face Al Khaleej on Tuesday.
The 3-0 win over Al-Orobah a weekend ago placed Khaleej at seventh in the Saudi Pro League, six points behind Al-Alami who are fourth after a 1-1 draw with Al-Taawoun.
Al-Khaleej are set for a league season in 2025 as the team has managed to gain points in two successive leagues, scoring more than once in both matches.
Georgios Donis has been witnessing his team clinch three out of their past four league games and placed them only three points away from the top five.
They clinched that victory this past weekend; that is four at home in this competition alone, excluding the achievements domestically at the Prince Mohamed bin Fahd Stadium from the previous season (three).
When scoring many goals in this competition the Al-Danah have not lost this season and they won maximum points for the sixth time when doing so.
Al-Khaleej have not found the back of the net in the first two matches of the league at home but have found the back of the net 12 times in their last five domestic games.
After 15 rounds of the next Saudi top-flight season, they have gained only 23 points, which is 10 points more than they did in 2023-24.
This all came after Al-Nassr had started to struggle in form since December of last year, having won only once in their last four matches across all competitions – a 3-1 triumph over Al-Akhdoud.
That means they have slipped out of the top four positions which entitled them an automatic place in the next season’s AFC Champions League.
Despite dropping five points whilst leading the tournament in scoring, Stefano Pioli's team is only two points behind Al Quadisiya for third place.
Before this encounter, Nadi Al-Shams had only scored one goal in their previous two away league games and were winless.
They have 29 points after 15 Saudi Pro League games so far this season, five less than they had at this point last year.
Al-Nassr has won three straight away games against Al-Khaleej without giving up a goal, and they have not lost any of their last six meetings with them in any tournament.
Abdullah Al-Fahad, who tore a muscle in his adductor region weeks ago, and Marwan Al-Haidari are both questionable for Al-Khaleej on Tuesday due to knee problems.
In their previous league match against Al-Orobah, they earned all three points thanks to goals from Mohamed Sherif, Fabio Martins, and Abdullah Al Salem.
After falling down late in the first half, Aymeric Laporte managed to earn a solitary point, which was their lone goal of the weekend.
